“We formed a company called The Common Room Theatre, [the name] truthfully inspired by Harry Potter,” says Co-Artistic Director Ryan Santa. The name speaks to something they all have in common, and positive memories for.
“I like to think it’s very cozy sitting in a squashy armchair by the fire, and I just think of a Common Room as a place where everyone is welcome: to gather, to come hang out and laugh, and have a good time,” says Co-Artistic Director Beau Buccilli.
This Common Room is certainly the place to laugh, and the group is aiming to prove it with their first big event on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 8:00pm at Forest City Brewery in Cleveland. POP CLEVELAND wants to test, “how CLEVELAND are you?” Sketch comedy of Cleveland-based topics and games are mixed in with fun tech opportunities for the audience to play along and influence the evening through cell phone interaction.
