CPT’s Pandemonium 2019 – Alchemy transforms the night (photos)

Merriam-Webster defines “Pandemonium” as “a wild uproar (as because of anger or excitement in a crowd of people).” September 7th, 2019’s Pandemonium at Cleveland Public Theatre (CPT) was most definitely one of excitement, as is usual for this annual benefit party. The sights, sounds, and surprises did not disappoint!

Touting itself as “a feast for the eyes, mind, appetite, and imagination—proceeds benefit CPT’s groundbreaking artistic work and life-changing education programs,” Pandemonium’s theme this year was “Alchemy.” There were around 300 artists performing in over 50 original works and musical acts in over 20 different unique stage spaces all over the CPT campus. Talent could be seen shining from every nook.

Spirits were high as the food was served in copious amounts, the drinks flowed, the weather cooperated beautifully, and the performers showed up ready to transform crowds. The honoree of the evening was Mark Ross, the Managing Partner for PwC in Northeast Ohio. Mark was honored for his advocacy for education, diversity & inclusion, economic development, healthcare, and the arts in the community.

Dance Performances included Verb Ballets, Inlet Dance Theatre, The Wind and Sand Dance Co., Suga Shack Girls Entertainment, Ballet Legato, and Double-Edge Dance.

Live Music Performances included Kyle Kidd, DJs Pureplex & A-Live, By Light We Loom, David Loy & the Ramrods, Church of Starry Wisdom, ContempOpera Cleveland, Duo Decibel System, The Prom Queens, Geri Smith, and Global Connections.

Munnell & John Busser, Renee Schilling, Les Hunter, Sally Groth, Elaine Hullihen, Sheffia Randall Dooley, Christopher Johnston, Andrew Aaron Valdez, Julia Fisher with Victoria McBride & Rachel Drotar, Nina Domingue, and Cleveland Public Theatre’s Student Theatre Enrichment Program (STEP).
